Praise Music at Heights Presbyterian Church
Music is an integral part of the worship experience at Heights Presbyterian Church. Our music is primarily contemporary, with occasional traditional songs with a modern twist. Austin Hoeltzel serves as our Worship Leader. He is a multifaceted and highly accomplished musician sought after as an operatic vocalist, instrumentalist, music educator, and clinician. Originally from Michigan, Austin traveled to Houston to pursue his Master's degree in vocal performance at the University of Houston after receiving a Bachelor's degree in vocal performance from the University of Michigan.
As the Worship Leader, Austin believes in the transformative power of music to bring the church closer to God. He presents music in a way that draws people's attention to the beauty and truth of the content. Musical excellence is a tribute to God, the source of creativity, and is expected out of respect for those who have gathered. When distractions are absent, the loving peace of God flourishes.
Austin is accompanied by Guy Felder on the keyboard. Guy’s musical journey began early, playing in church and continuing his piano studies through college. His career has spanned composition, arrangement, and recording. Guy understands his ministry of music as “divine love delivered through human channels.”
