Meet pastor matt
Rev. Matt Beach was born on Galveston Island. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hawaii and Master of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He is currently working on his Doctor of Philosophy in Theology and Ethics from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA, specializing in eschatology and utopia. He previously served as Assistant Editor of the Anglican Theological Review and has taught classes on theology, ethics, and methodology. He loves being outdoors, tinkering on air-cooled VWs, and reading books. Pastor Matt serves HPC part-time as he completes his dissertation. He lives in Galveston with his dog, Macrina.Pastor Matt takes the call to be a Teaching Elder seriously. His self-understanding of that call is to serve the congregation as a theologian in residence, teaching the doctrines of the faith in new and innovative ways.
